No — the price cap only applies to domestic rates. It is still worth watching the quarterly domestic reviews as a guide to where prices are heading; if the cap is rising it can be a good moment to reassess your nursery's contract.
Once your switching window opens and your contract is up for renewal, usually a few months before it ends. A new deal signed in that period starts when your current contract expires. If you have just moved premises or you are on out-of-contract rates, you can switch at any time.
It is the earliest point you can compare prices and secure a new deal — typically 90 days before your contract end date, though this varies. Your supplier must confirm the window in writing, along with their automatic renewal policy and deemed contract terms.
